PROJECTs
Leg Up Los Angeles holds need based distribution events 2-3 times a month. These could include food, sanitation supplies, or clothing distributions, which cater to 100-1000 people per event. This page displays the efforts in only some of our larger projects, as well as some of our future initiatives.
INITIATIVE C
Along with our need based distributions, Leg Up LA has plans to establish several community centers and supportive housing centers. The first of which being the first Leg Up Los Angeles Community Center in Initiative C. This project aims to provide for the establishment of a free wifi, free food, as well as a short term and long term assistance center for houseless individuals. The center will have several devices for the usage of all Los Angeles citizens, as well as services with some of our partners in mental health, dental, and other types of supportive services. All of these The center will be a first of its kind, and will be a haven of supportive services for all who need it. New Years 2020
During our first large event, we were able to distribute meals consisting of chicken, beans, rice, and a choice of drinks and chips, to over 300 houseless citizens in the Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Lincoln Heights, and Skid Row areas.
COVID Care Package day 9/14/20
On this day we were able to distribute 250+ sanitation packs that included hand sanitizer, gloves, wipes, water, masks, and food, across various neighborhoods in the city of Los Angeles.
Lunch Day 9/27/20
On this day we were able to distribute 200+ lunch boxes out to our houseless neighbors across various neighborhood in Los Angeles.
BBQ day 10/25/20
On this particular day, we were able to distribute 100 meals cooked by the Flores family. We were able to distribute in areas in West Los Angeles.
Donut Day 11/15/20
On this day, we were able to distribute a serving of donuts and hot chocolate for 200+ houseless individuals. Donuts were supplied by Colorado Donuts in Eagle Rock.
Leg Up Week of Giving 2020
During the week of Christmas, we had conducted 5 days of giving, in which we distributed drinks and Pizza for 150 folks on one day, 100 servings of donuts and hot chocolate the second day, and prepared and distributed clothing packs for the following days.
4th of July 2020
During this event we were able to distribute 700+ meals across various neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles. Including Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Pasadena, Echo Park, Hollywood, Silverlake, and Downtown Los Angeles.
Breakfast Day 9/13/20
On this day we were able to distribute 300+ full breakfast meals across the city of Los Angeles.
Sanitation Day 10/4/20
On this particular day, we were able to distribute 1000 bags of sanitation supplies, to help combat the rising rates of Coronavirus among our houseless neighbors. We were able to distribute in almost all areas of the city of Los Angeles.
Winter Clothing Event 11/10/20
On this day, we were able to put blankets, sweaters, and socks on 50+ houseless individuals.
Thanksgiving 2020
For this event, we were again able to collaborate with the Flores family, and prepared 1000 thanksgiving meals for houseless folks across all regions of the city of Los Angeles.
Valentines Day 2021
On Valentines day we distributed 200 bags of food and sanitation supplies to our houseless neighbors!
